Guide

Download Shorts

YouTube Shorts use the same link structure as regular YouTube videos, so Pullify fetches and downloads them the same way — paste the Short's link, review the formats (usually vertical resolutions), and download. There's no separate Shorts-specific tool needed.

Shorts are still standard YouTube uploads under the hood — they just default to a vertical aspect ratio and shorter length. That means the same link-paste-and-fetch workflow applies, and the format list Pullify returns reflects whatever resolutions YouTube encoded for that specific Short, typically limited to the vertical frame it was recorded in.

Because Shorts are short by design, file sizes are usually small regardless of resolution, so downloading even the highest available quality is fast compared to a long-form video. Audio-only extraction also works the same way, useful for saving a Short's sound separately.

For general YouTube link-copying and troubleshooting notes that also apply to Shorts, see the main YouTube guide — this page focuses on what's specific to the short-form case rather than repeating that ground.

Format notes for Shorts

Aspect ratio

Vertical, matching how the Short was recorded — typically 1080x1920 or similar.

Resolution ceiling

Limited to what the creator's device and YouTube's processing produced for that specific Short.

Audio-only

Available when YouTube exposes a separate audio stream, same as with standard videos.

How it works

1

Open the Short and copy its link from the share button.

2

Paste it into the search bar and fetch the media details.

3

Review the vertical format options available.

4

Download the quality you want.

Tips

  • Shorts links usually contain "/shorts/" in the URL — make sure you're copying that link rather than a redirected long-form URL.
  • Because file sizes are small, there's rarely a meaningful tradeoff between the highest and lowest available quality — the largest option is usually still a quick download.
  • If you're saving several Shorts from the same channel, the queue widget lets you fetch and download them back to back without waiting.

Troubleshooting

Link doesn't return formats: confirm it's a public Short and not a private or deleted upload.

Only one resolution appears: some Shorts are only encoded at a single resolution by YouTube, depending on the original upload quality.

Video looks stretched after downloading: this reflects the original aspect ratio of the Short, not a Pullify processing issue.

FAQs

Do Shorts need a different link format than regular videos?

Shorts links typically include "/shorts/" in the URL, but Pullify handles them the same way as any other YouTube link once pasted in.

Can I download a Short in landscape orientation?

No — Pullify saves whatever orientation the source video was recorded and published in, which for Shorts is vertical.

Are Shorts downloads lower quality than regular videos?

Not inherently — quality depends on what the creator's device recorded, not on the Shorts format itself.

Can I extract just the audio from a Short?

Yes, when YouTube exposes an audio-only stream for that Short, the same as with standard videos.

Why did my Shorts link fail?

The most common causes are a private, deleted, or region-restricted upload — the same reasons a regular YouTube link would fail.

Legal & safe use

Only download media you own or have permission to use — whether that's allowed depends on your jurisdiction and the rights holder's terms, not on Pullify. Read our Responsible Use Policy and Copyright & DMCA Policy before downloading content you don't own.
